Zemgale Technological Centre (ZTC) has successfully completed the construction of a modern prefabricated garden office building in Oslo, Norway. The 50 m² timber-framed building features a striking rusted steel facade made from Ruukki Cor-Ten 800, creating a bold, industrial design aesthetic.
This compact yet expressive building stands out not only for its clean architectural form, but also for the unique facade and roof cladding. The use of Cor-Ten 800 weathering steel gives the structure a naturally aging surface, which evolves over time into a distinctive, protective patina. The result is a visually compelling and durable exterior that integrates industrial character with modern design.
The project was designed by the client herself—an architect—who created the building for personal use. Every element, down to the smallest detail, was carefully considered and custom-designed, reflecting a high standard of architectural precision and craftsmanship. The result is a unique and elegant garden office tailored to the owner's vision.
Due to the limited space on the construction site, the building was assembled directly from the delivery vehicle, ensuring an efficient, accurate, and time-saving installation process without the need for additional storage or handling.
ZTC provided a complete turnkey service for this prefabricated building project, including:
Design of wooden structural elements
Production of timber construction components in Latvia
